One of my favorite musical movies is John Carney’s ‘Sing Street.’ It doesn’t have the Hollywood names to back it up but the film moved me because of its message about dreamers, about those who are talented but are surrounded by people and situations that make life and dreaming big difficult. But that didn’t stop Conor from being in a band and get the girl he likes.
That’s the vibe I am getting hearing the cast and people behind the upcoming Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2019 movie ‘LSS (Last Song Syndrome)’ when they talked about their musical romcom during their bloggers’ conference.
“Message ‘nung film, this is really about loving and dreaming. So, ang love is when you believe in someone’s dreams and when someone believes in your dreams. And through this film, we hope to say dreaming is possible when someone believes in you,” director Jade Castro on what they want the moviegoers to get from ‘LSS.’
“I remember the first time I heard a song from Ben&Ben, si Gab nagparinig sa akin sa car, ‘Ride Home,’ and it immediately uplifted me, it felt really positive. ‘Grabe para akong nakikinig ng Disney film. I’m assuring you the whole film LSS will feel the exact same way once you exit the cinema,” actor Khalil Ramos shares.
During the #PPP3GrandFanCon, Ben&Ben closed the event with, I think five of their songs. The event was held at the second floor of the SMX Convention Center in Pasay, City. And people were jumping here and there, not minding that the building might collapse. It was a total blast. That experience made me want to watch the film more because of what I saw, how infectious their songs are.
Anyway, check out the official trailer of ‘L.S.S. (Last Song Syndrome) below and watch the film in cinemas September 13 – 19 as part of the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino.
