That was a line from the young adult romantic movie ‘Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wi-Fi’ starring Sue Ramirez, Jameson Blake and Markus Paterson, directed by Jun Robles Lana.
August 7, 2020 at 4 in the morning, director Jun Lana posted “Not interested in writing sequels, but this one is an exception.”
With the success of Gameboys, some are wondering if the director is referring to his recent film ‘Kalel, 15′ starring Gameboys The Series’ Elijah Canlas who recently won Best Actor at the 17th Asian Film Festival in Rome, Italy. I was actually thinking it was about the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino entry ‘The Panti Sisters’ which a sequel was already announced. But it was not written by Lana.
And then he replied to his tweet saying, “I’m talking about ABASW.” Which are the initials of his Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2018 movie ‘Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wi-Fi.’
So, I kinda panicked and retweeted it with comment:
And to my surprise, director Jun replied:
“Maybe in another time, in a parallel universe, you and I will end up with each other.”
That heartbreaking scene may still be fresh for some of you, if you’ve seen the movie. So, the question now is… How will the story of Aries and Norma continue if the other half is not alive anymore?
The answer maybe, is in that quote from the movie.
A parallel universe.
It’s just a wild guess. We cannot confirm anything about the sequel, just that it is currently being written.
For someone who loved the first one, I am excited what director Jun Lana has in store for us in the sequel. And if Sue, Jameson and Markus will return to reprise their roles.
