It’s not always, especially nowadays, that love teams from TV get to have their chance to present their tandem on the big screen. But with the success of BarDa or Barbie Forteza and David Licauco’s love team in Maria Clara at Ibarra that followed by two more shows featuring their tandem, it’s no surprise that someone will gamble to put BarDa on the big screen.
That Kind of Love tells the story of Milagros Maharlika (Forteza), renowned dating coach and certified psychologist has embarked on an extraordinary journey of transformation of Adam De Dios (Licauco), the CEO of a prestigious shipping company. Their story, unfolding amidst the hustle of corporate life and the intricacies of the heart, has captured the essence of finding love in unexpected places.
But what do the two think of BarDa on the big screen?
“The main purpose of all of us to really put out a good film, maibalik ang quality films na gawang Pilipino na ‘yun ang panoorin ng mga tao sa sinehan. It’s the entirety of the film industry in the Philippines, we would like to, buhayin ang industriya ng Pilipino,” That Kind of Love leading lady Barbie Forteza on the hopes of their film getting a good box-office result.
”Mas maganda naman talaga manood sa sinehan. Back at the day, ‘nung mga bata pa tayo, pre-pandemic, ang saya manood sa sine. So with this film, sana bumalik ang mga tao dahil mas masaya talaga,” That Kind of Love leading man David Licauco agreeing on Barbie’s statement.
“Magandang panoorin ‘to pang first date. O kaya gusto nilang ma-rekindle ang love nila, manood sila ng That Kind of Love para ma-realize nila kung gaano ka-powerful ang love. Ang saya kaya nitong date movie,” Barbie continues.
“That Kind of Love” is a Spotlight Entry and Awardee at the Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival in Japan. It is also the sophomore outing of Pocket Media Productions, Incorporation, following the success of its first offering, “Chances Are, You and I,” starring Kelvin Miranda and Kira Balinger.
The film also stars Al Tantay, Arlene Muhlach, Jef Gaitan, Divine Aucina, Ivan Carapiet and Kaila Estrada
