“I am passionate sa film. During the pandemic, talagang gusto kong mag-produce ng film. I spent almost P10M, kasi umabot ng ilang directors. Ang gusto ko kasing i-produce is ‘yung mai-showcase ‘yung talent, kung gaano kagaling ang mga Pilipino pagdating sa filmmaking – mga visual effects, mga AI, mga CGI, ang gusto kong film is sci-fi. So, naghahanap ako ng director. ‘Yung unang direktor namin, gusto niya old school. ’Yung gusto niya ‘yung zombie babangon sa sementeryo, sabi ko hindi pwede. ‘Yung pangalawang direktor naman sabi niya CGI. Ang problema naman namin sa CGI, ‘yung mga sundalo naka-green screen. ‘Yung mga sundalo naka-green, edi wala nang ulo. ‘Yung pangatlong direktor naman gumawa ng sariling istorya. And then, nakita ko si direk Renz (John Renz Cahilig) na,” producer Dominic Orjalo shares on how ‘Lisik Origin Point’ was conceived.
‘Lisik Origin Point’ is about Kara (Grace Rosas Tayo) who struggles with the loss of her brother, bullied to death, while her friend and classmate Elisha (Nika de Guzman) is consumed by anger toward the bullied headed by Max (Jeremiah Allera).
A mysterious infection turns their school into a nightmare, transforming students into flesh-eating monsters.
Elisha uncovers the truth behind the experiments and hunts the bullies, but the infection takes her too. She urges Kara to escape with vital documents. Kara sacrifices herself to save a young boy.
Elisha, the last survivor, is found by her policeman brother, her eyes now glowing blue despite the bite.

“I’ve been a filmmaker for 13 amazing years, and what started as a fun hobby quickly turned into a full-blown passion. Over the years, I created dozens of short films, constantly pushing myself to get better and refine my craft. That journey has led me to ‘Lisik Origin Point’ — the ultimate result of all the hard work, late nights, and endless creativity,” shares director John Renz Cahilig.
When asked how is ‘Lisik Origin Point’ different from the hit Korean zombie Netflix series ‘All of Us Are Dead,” director Renz answers, ”Actually, coincidence lang ‘yun. ‘Yung sa All of Us Are Dead kasi ‘yung teacher dun galit siya eh, revengeful siya. ‘Yung sa amin naman is for the greater good, it just went south. I’ve been hearing a lot of comparison and I don’t blame the people kasi ‘yung setting namin and ‘yung story na may zombie sa school, plano na namin siya even before nag-pop ang All of Us Are Dead, talagang setting namin is school. And makikita ninyo ‘yung character difference, it’s very different from the characters from the Netflix series.”
‘Lisik Origin Point’ opens in Philippine cinemas on February 19, 2025 from Domniel International Films Production.
