After many years, Carlos Morales has finally delivered his passion project, “Wild Boys” which premiered last June 3, 2025, at Cinema 3 Gateway Cineplex, Araneta City, Cubao, Quezon City.
“It’s a dream project for me. Noong kasing teenage years ko, I was a dancer at gusto ko talagang gumawa ng film na puwede kong maipakita iyong other side ko, which is dancing,” Carlos shares.
Carlos Morales is not just a director in this project, but he also starred in the film together with brothers Aljur and Vin Abrenica, alongside Kristof Garcia, Martin Escudero, Arwind Santos, Rash Flores, Jimboy Martin, Pedro Red, Christian Ty, and Billy James Renacia.
Joining the cast are Inday Garutay, Rolando Inocencio, Atakstar, Gerald Acao, Cataleya Surio, Ejay Feihl, Bong Alvarez, Terrence Velarde, Books Fabello, Freddie Garcia, Michael Burdette, Salvador Abupo, and John Defensor, with a special participation by Krista Miller.
Inspired by the 2012 Hollywood movie “Magic Mike”, this film takes the idea of an all-attractive and charismatic male group that gives a unique Filipino twist that is surprisingly tender beneath all the sweat and swag. This film not only showcases well-toned abs and dance moves, but also the story behind how the group was formed and what keeps them grounded.
“Wild Boys” also reveals stories of the societal issues in the country, such as poverty, redemption. fatherhood, betrayal, and dreams deferred. Carlos balanced the emotional layer of the story and mixed in a glimpse of comedy.
With a dynamic mix of seductive performances and heartfelt storytelling, Carlos Morales offers a bold, Filipino take on a genre rarely explored in local cinema. Currently rated R-16 for its mature themes, sensual content, and bold performances, the film made an explosive premiere on June 3, 2025, at Gateway Cineplex. Despite that, no official date has been announced yet for its public release this may definitely be exciting to watch!
