A love team is a significant phenomenon in the entertainment industry, especially in the Philippines. Most TV and movie stars today began their careers or became big in the industry as part of a love team. But along with that are, in a way, responsibilities and expectations, especially from the fans. Some are very supportive to the point that they blur the lines between work and reality, shipping them outside their movie or TV shows.
It’s great because having a lot of followers means your projects and endorsements will turn out good, which also means more projects and endorsements. But some, if not most, are getting way out of hand, as fans demand more from what they can offer.
Cornerstone Entertainment recently launched two of their upcoming vertical series ‘1-2-3 Boyfriend ni Marie’ and ‘My Favorite Liar.’ The two series also featured two of their love teams, Niko Badayos and Perlas or NikoLas and Patrick Rocamora and Cheska Cabrera or PatCheska.

Now that they are officially love teams in the entertainment industry, are they ready for the expectations and demands of the fans?
“Actually, ready kami ni Cheska, kasi in the first place, nasabi ko nung sa last interview namin, nung una naming kita nung workshop, parang nag-click kami, nag-match kami. Kasi madaldal at approachable ako na tao, nung nagtanong ako ng questions sa kanya, nagshe-share din naman siya ng personal things niya, mga pinagdadaanan sa buhay,” Patrick Rocamora of ‘My Favorite Liar’ answers.
“Mabilis kaming naging close,” Cheska Cabrera of ‘My Favorite Liar’ adds.
“May expectations na naman kami kung ano ang love team, especially kung ano ‘yung love team culture dito sa Philippines. And for us, it came out naturally, to be honest. And we’re so happy na na-appreciate ng tao and tumagos siya sa screen. And I hope this time, tatagos pa din siya sa vertical series,” of ‘1-2-3 Boyfriend ni Marie’ shares.
“Ganun din, same lang. Hindi, kasi sobrang natural lang nung samin ni Niko dahil meron na naman kaming love team. On and off cam, sobrang natural lang namin. Kung ano ang nakikita nila on cam, same lang din off cam,” Perlas of ’1-2-3 Boyfriend ni Marie’ continues.
‘1-2-3 Boyfriend ni Marie‘ premieres September 26 on Beetzee Play, while ‘My Favorite Liar’ starts streaming on October 3, also on Beetzee Play.
