Amazon MGM Studios has officially announced that The Last Sunrise, a feature adaptation of the beloved novel by Anna Todd, will stream globally on Prime Video starting August 26. Directed by Carlson Young with a screenplay by Anna Klassen, the film is described as a poignant, high-stakes romance about embracing life against the clock. The production brings together a team well-versed in hit romantic dramas, presented by Amazon MGM Studios alongside Ethea Entertainment, Pitt Street Productions, and Luber Roklin Entertainment.


The story follows Ry, a college student living with a chronic illness, who embarks on a summer escape to the stunning island of Mallorca with her mother. While there, Ry’s life takes an unexpected turn when she meets JuliΓ‘n. As the two fall deeply in love and Ry learns to truly live in the moment, the idyllic getaway is threatened by her worsening medical condition and the sudden emergence of long-hidden family secrets.
The film features a compelling ensemble cast, starring Maia Reficco as Ry, Fernando Lindez as JuliΓ‘n, and Eva Longoria as Ry’s mother. Behind the scenes, the project is produced by Jennifer Gibgot, Lena Roklin, Andrew Panay, Brian Pitt, and author Anna Todd herself. Guided by the tagline, “FALL IN LOVE. CHASE THE SUNRISE.
