MANILA, Philippines — To expand Thailand’s creative reach across ASEAN, the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, is bringing 18 leading Thai media companies to Manila from August 26–28, 2026, for the “THAI CONTENT IN THE PHILIPPINES 2026” trade mission.
The initiative aims to drive business negotiations, content licensing, and co-production opportunities between Thai entertainment providers and Philippine distributors, streaming platforms, and broadcast networks.
Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, Director-General of DITP, highlighted the Philippines as a top-priority strategic market within ASEAN, citing the country’s expanding creative economy, high digital adoption, and a strong, enthusiastic youth demographic that actively consumes Thai TV series, films, and pop culture.
“The Department of International Trade Promotion is committed to continuously expanding opportunities for Thailand’s content industry in international markets. The Philippines is one of ASEAN’s strategic markets with strong potential, both in terms of its consumer base and its dynamic media and entertainment industry. This initiative will create new business opportunities, strengthen networks and cooperation between Thai and Philippine businesses, and support the expansion of content licensing and co-production opportunities, while enhancing the competitiveness of Thailand’s content industry in both regional and global markets.”
The participating 18 Thai companies span film, television drama, digital series, and production services, bringing proven domestic and international hits tailored to Philippine audience preferences.
