From possessed refrigerators and sinister bathroom creatures to dread-filled train commutes, the iconic Shake, Rattle & Roll film franchise has transformed everyday spaces into sources of terror for generations of Filipinos, firmly embedding its horror tales into local pop culture and childhood memories.
Over four decades after its debut, the classic franchise is stepping into digital gaming through a partnership between Regal Entertainment and BingoPlus.
This joint venture pairs Regal’s rich cinematic history with the digital entertainment reach of BingoPlus, launching five original games adapted from iconic franchise themes and creatures:
- Manananggal
- Reyna Ahas
- Triple Terror
- LRT Monster
- Aswang
Launched in 1984, Shake, Rattle & Roll spent decades chilling viewers with narratives drawn from Philippine mythology, native folklore, and memorable fictional monsters that sparked conversations long after the theater credits rolled.
For Regal Entertainment, transitioning into gaming allows these classic stories to reach a modern audience while maintaining their cultural roots.
“For more than four decades, Shake, Rattle & Roll has remained part of Philippine popular culture through stories that are distinctly Filipino,” said Roselle Monteverde, President of Regal Entertainment. “Our collaboration with DigiPlus opens a new chapter for the franchise, bringing its creative legacy into digital entertainment while preserving the storytelling and cultural identity that have made it enduring.”
Regal Entertainment executives Roselle Monteverde and Keith Monteverde graced the launch event alongside prominent franchise actors Janice de Belen, JC de Vera, and John “Sweet” Lapus. The cast members delighted attendees by sharing nostalgic behind-the-scenes stories and personal memories from their respective Shake, Rattle & Roll episodes.

Adding extra flair and theatricality to the celebration, Drag Race Philippines stars Hana Beshie, Yudipota, and Eva Le Queen dressed as three of the franchise’s most iconic monsters: Undin, the LRT Monster, and the Manananggal, and took the stage to entertain the audience with live performances.

The strategic partnership highlights the interplay between two local entertainment brands. Regal supplies the established lore and beloved characters, while BingoPlus—a brand under DigiPlus Interactive Corp.—delivers the interactive digital platform to experience them.
Beyond expanding into gaming, the joint venture highlights the lasting power of Philippine storytelling, demonstrating how local cultural narratives adapt across evolving media formats.
“Our goal is to give our players premium entertainment. This partnership is also an example of how we work: we put our customers first. We listen to what our players enjoy, and we keep working to give them something fresh, engaging, and made for them. The Shake, Rattle & Roll games are part of that commitment,” stated DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio Tanco.
He added, “Our goal is to give our players premium entertainment. That means high-quality games, thoughtful design, and worthy experiences. Partnering with Regal, one of the country’s most respected names in storytelling, helps us deliver that.”
Platform Availability
The five Shake, Rattle & Roll games are currently available on the BingoPlus app, with plans for a phased release across other DigiPlus platforms, including ArenaPlus and GameZone.
Through this initiative, Regal and BingoPlus bridge nostalgic movie scares with interactive play, proving that while these legendary monsters remain familiar, the ways to encounter them are brand new.
