Thirty years after making holiday movie history, Arnold Schwarzenegger is stepping back into the festive genre—this time sporting the legendary red suit itself. Prime Video has set a global premiere date of December 2, 2026, for The Man With The Bag, a high-stakes Christmas heist comedy that pairs the icon with action star Alan Ritchson.
Directed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray, Disenchanted) from a script by Allan Rice, the PG-rated, 111-minute film delivers an action-packed twist on traditional holiday fare. The story kicks off when a rogue elf with a grudge, played by Awkwafina, steals Santa Claus’s magical gift bag right before his biggest night of the year. Desperate to save Christmas, Santa (Schwarzenegger) turns to his infamous Naughty List and recruits Vance (Ritchson), a former thief.
To pull off the ultimate heist and retrieve the magic bag, Vance teams up with his daughter, Santa, a crew of criminally skilled misfits, and a few helpful elves and reindeer. The result is a festive adventure centered on second chances, unlikely alliances, and the realization that even Santa needs a backup plan.
Alongside Schwarzenegger, Ritchson, and Awkwafina, the ensemble cast features Berkeley James, Michael Cyril Creighton, Liza Koshy, Kyle Mooney, Jane Krakowski, and Ken Jeong. The film is produced by Lawrence Grey, Ben Everard, Reg Tigerman, Dan Spilo, and Alan Ritchson.
The Man With The Bag streams worldwide on Prime Video starting December 2, 2026.
