The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) on Thursday reported that it has reviewed and classified 99,689 film and television materials from January to October 2026.

MTRCB Chair and CEO Lala Sotto assured that every material submitted for review underwent careful evaluation and classification to ensure compliance with the Agency’s regulatory standards and alignment with contemporary Filipino values.

Of this number of reviewed materials for the first three quarters of 2026, 90,424 were television programs, 6,223 were television plugs, and 490 were Filipino and foreign films.

Also reviewed were 405 trailers for cinemas, 866 trailers for TV and other venues, and 1,281 other publicity materials.

Under Presidential Decree 1986, the Agency is tasked with classifying movies, TV programs, and publicity materials like trailers and posters for public exhibition.

“These figures are proof of the professionalism, diligence and commitment of our Board in seeing to it that each movie and TV material is age-appropriate,” Sotto said.

“We shall continue to perform our mandate and advocacy of protecting young Filipino viewers from harmful content while empowering our parents to help guide their children’s media consumption habits,” she added.
