AMERICAN HEIST (2015) Review
“The banking institutions are more dangerous than the army.”
For a heist film, one would think that you would experience a suspenseful film that would have at least offer something to take home with you after watching it. American Heist is exhausting. It clutches into these dramas that hardly benefits the characters or the film as a whole. It’s not original also as it borrows these cliches from other heist drama pushing the characters to do bad things because of lack of money. If not for Brody and Christensen’s presence, the film would be absolutely for nothing.
The film feels uninspired though the lead actors are also producing it. With its cast, it could have made a better and strong film but it chooses to write an overused plot for crime dramas. The action sequences are decently average but feels fewer than it should be. American Heist is lost overthinking its story, it’s drowned in its own dramas that it forgets to be a (clever) heist film.
American Heist is now showing in cinemas nationwide from Crystalsky Multimedia. Rated R-16 by the MTRCB.
