NO ESCAPE (2015) Review
Without a doubt, No Escape puts the suspense at its highest, setting up danger and thrills in a very effective way. But it’s a bit exhausting to go run and hide on and on and on. The story is thin, though. If you remove all the suspenseful scenes, you’ll mostly get ordinary characters in an unfortunate situation.
Owen Wilson is surprisingly effective driving the film in an intense dramatic thriller finding the will to live for his family. Lake Bell is good as her usual role being the mother or the support to what the core character needs. Pierce Brosnan is skillfull but it’s hard not to think that he could’ve done more or better as his character, not going for some heroic act just to make a bigger impact.
