BREAKING THROUGH (2015) Review
Directed by John Swetnam
There are a lot of bad dance movies out there and Breaking Through is one of them. The film has no decent story and has no impressive dance sequences. The thing about dance movies is that they gamble with making a film either because they have a decent story or a mind-blowing dance sequences but Breaking Through has neither. Even the actors have no charisma to even put up an eye-catching routine. It just bores you with its cliched and overused dramas and dull direction.
There’s no sign the film could’ve gotten or be better, Sophia Aguiar is beautiful but she hardly has the charm to be the center of a show. You’ll just keep on asking yourself how such film was produced or was even written as a film about arts has minimal creativity and feels uninspired.
