“Game Night” Review: Unadulterated Fun

GAME NIGHT (2018) Review
Directed by John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein

It’s been years since we’ve had a decent comedy that doesn’t rely too much on the talents of its cast, then came this movie that stars Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams which has a great idea for a comedy that turned out pretty well.

Two competitive individuals find love in each other and set their lives in joining various games even after marriage. Bateman and McAdams as a pair works, they’ve managed to play their roles where we can see them as real couples, as real wife and husband.

This dark comedy works because of its cast, and also because of its script. Talented actors that work with a smart narrative will give the audience the best time of their lives, a movie worth spending.

The film is awkwardly and irresistibly funny. McAdams and Bateman take us to a roller coaster ride of mind twisting series of events. It entertains not just with its humor but its ability to actually make the audience think of what happens next which is most the time unpredictable.
