‘Nanahimik Ang Gabi’ Review: Intense, slick, sexy house invasion movie

NANAHIMIK ANG GABI (2022) Review
Directed by Shugo Praico

Heaven Peralejo in a career-defining project. This isn’t your usual movie during the Metro Manila Film Festival. This isn’t even your usual movie from the Philippines. Nanahimik Ang Gabi is one intense, slick and sexy house invasion movie.

The film looks gorgeous. You can see and feel they’ve put on enough thought and budget on how the film will be mounted. From the cinematography to the production design, Nanahimik Ang Gabi feels like it is produced by an international production company.

While the story is smart, the lines could use better words. The dialogues are not as engaging as it could be that some scenes feel dragging and prolonged. But Peralejo, Ian Veneracion and Mon Confiado are a great trio. They make the best out of each scene from being sexy to bringing tension to the screen.

Even though the story has twists and turns, it’s a pretty straightforward film. Filled with tension, drama and erotism. Maybe we should watch out for more projects from director Shugo Praico. Seems like he really knows what he’s doing.

3.5 OUT OF 5 STARS

‘Nanahimik Ang Gabi’ is now showing in Philippine cinemas nationwide from Rein Entertainment. Rated R-13 by the MTRCB.
