THE LEGO MOVIE 2 (2019) Review
Directed by Mike Mitchell
The first LEGO movie was a success, not only talking about its box-office gross, but its ability to produce spin-offs like The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Ninjago Movie. While the latter may not be as successful as the first two, it didn’t stop Warner Bros. Pictures on making the sequel of its first ever LEGO movie.
The LEGO Movie 2 starts right after where its predecessor ends. Now, that might seem that the audience needs to familiarize themselves with the LEGO movie universe by watching the first part but it feels The LEGO Movie 2 can stand on its own. You just have to embrace its characters quirks and personalities and the story will flow naturally.
The film is as funny as the first one and though you might think that it already made out of the box ideas, The LEGO Movie 2 does more of the same by adding more depth into what it already established.
The jokes still work, the adventure is still out of this world, The LEGO Movie 2 is a worthy sequel to a critically-acclaimed animated film.
