JC de Vera and Shaina Magdayao Are ‘Florante at Laura’ — Official Trailer to Be Unveiled at ACFM
BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA — FEAST Foundation will launch the official trailer for Ang Florante at Laura ni Balagtas (Florante and Laura) on October 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM (Booth F14) during the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) in Busan, South Korea. A digital premiere will run at the same time in the Philippines, airing at 12:00 noon local time on YouTube and Facebook.
Anchored by the theme “Love, our last revolution,” this film adaptation of Francisco Balagtas’s classic verse brings a timeless tale of affection, treachery, and resilience to the screen.
Starring JC de Vera as Florante and Shaina Magdayao as Laura, with Royce Cabrera as Aladin, Gillian Vicencio as Flerida, Kristof Garcia as Minandro, and Brian Sy as Adolfo. Written for the screen and directed by Alvin Yapan.
While Florante and Laura has long been a staple of school curricula, this screen version turns its core tensions into a cinematic experience—raising hard questions about trust, conviction, and whether empathy can survive in a hostile climate. It centers on a devotion that stands firm against greed, bias, and tyranny in a fractured world.
Industry members attending ACFM—including distributors, sales representatives, buyers, and festival organizers—can visit Booth F14 to watch the unveil and meet the production team. Viewers in the Philippines can tune in online and join the discussion using the hashtags #FloranteAtLaura and #LoveOurLastRevolution.
