Can love survive past the finish line of life? That’s the heart of “Multwoh,” a supernatural romantic comedy starring internet icon Sassa Gurl and actor Joao Constancia. Directed by Rodina Singh for the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival, the movie follows Marcel, a college student who dies before she can admit her feelings to her best friend, Miguel. Returning as a spirit, Marcel tries to clear her unfinished business in a story that blends humor, grief, and queer romance.

Both leads scored acting nominations at the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival—Sassa for Panalong Aktres and Joao for Panalong Aktor. Their chemistry gives weight to two people caught in the painful space of “what if.”
Sassa Gurl Steps Out of Her Comfort Zone
Known for her loud, viral online persona, Sassa continues to build a serious screen record following roles in Balota and Bar Boys: After School (which won her Breakthrough Actress of the Year at the 2026 Platinum Stallion National Media Awards).
In Multwoh, Sassa pulls back. Marcel is soft-spoken, timid, and slow to share her heart—a sharp turn from the creator’s usual high-energy comedy.
“I think that’s one of the beautiful things about acting. You get to step outside yourself and discover different ways of being, loving, and experiencing the world,” Sassa noted.

Building romantic chemistry on set was a new challenge, but working alongside Joao made it easier. “On our first day pa lang, kinilig na agad ako,” she admitted, giving credit to Joao’s easygoing nature for making their scenes feel natural.
To Sassa, Marcel is more than a ghost story; she represents everyday queer experiences that deserve to be portrayed with care and normality.
Joao Constancia Proves His Acting Range
Joao, who got his start in BoybandPH before landing roles in He’s Into Her and Can’t Buy Me Love, plays Miguel—a young man left processing sudden loss and unspoken love.
“What drew me to my character is the yearning he felt for the love and the opportunity he regretted. I think that’s the feeling everyone can relate to, including me,” Joao shared.
The project gave Joao a chance to show audiences more emotional depth beyond standard lead roles. “I want audiences to discover that I’m a real actor who can actually act—na may depth ako. Yung hindi puro pakilig-kilig lang kaya kong gawin,” he said.
A Queer Romance That Celebrates Life
For Sassa, a proud trans performer, the film’s message hits home. While Marcel’s death sets the plot in motion, Sassa insists the story focuses on how her character lived, not just how she died.
“Our lives are defined by how we live, not by how we die,” Sassa emphasized.
Even during press runs—where she famously pulled off a promotional coffin stunt—Sassa kept the core message clear: beneath the ghostly humor lies a grounded story about self-acceptance and taking chances while you still can.
