‘Edjop’ Filmmakers and Cast Head to Philippine Campuses Ahead of September 16 Nationwide Release

Ahead of its September 16 theatrical release, the team behind Edjop—the highly anticipated biopic of 1970s youth activist Edgar Jopson—is taking its promotional tour directly to Philippine universities. Through the youth-led Edjop Campus Conversations, the filmmakers and cast aim to foster genuine dialogue with students across the country rather than hosting a traditional press junket.

The long-awaited independent biopic “EDJOP” has finally secured a path to the big screen. Chronicling the life of Edgar “Edjop” Jopson, the iconic student leader and Martial Law–era activist, the film is set to open in cinemas nationwide on September 16, 2026. This wide release comes courtesy of a major distribution deal with Warner Bros. Pictures Philippines, marking a massive win for a project that spent half a decade in development.
