MANILA, Philippines – IdeaFirst Live, the stage division of The IdeaFirst Company, announced its upcoming 2027–2028 theater season on October 25. The roster features three new original works: Die Beautiful: The Musical, Victorina, and Teorya ng Mga Tanong.
Building on its previous stage adaptations of Anino sa Likod ng Buwan and About Us But Not About Us, the company’s new lineup showcases projects written specifically for live performance, gathering a slate of top Filipino actors, playwrights, and directors.
2027–2028 Season Highlights
- June 2027: Die Beautiful: The Musical. Opening at the Proscenium Theater, this musical adaptation of the hit movie centers on themes of beauty, self-identity, and chosen family. Directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio with a book and lyrics co-written by Jun Robles Lana and Elmer Gatchalian, the cast includes Audie Gemora, Karylle, Esang de Torres, Maxie Andreison, Viñas Deluxe, Lance Reblando, and Chamyto.
- October 2027: Victorina. Award-winning actress Eugene Domingo makes her stage return in a satire written by Jun Robles Lana and directed by Chris Martinez. Drawing inspiration from José Rizal’s classic character Doña Victorina (Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo), the comedy centers on Philippine literature’s notorious social climber as she tries to reshape history on her own terms.
- March 2028: Teorya ng Mga Tanong. Actors Romnick Sarmenta, Elijah Canlas, and Epy Quizon reunite following their work in About Us But Not About Us. Written by Jun Robles Lana and directed by Tuxqs Rutaquio, this meta-theatrical story places the three actors inside the fictional novel their previous characters once debated, examining the lines between reality and storytelling.
IdeaFirst Live also hinted at an unannounced fourth project currently in development, planned as an experimental production designed to push traditional staging boundaries.

Alongside the season reveal, the company introduced THE FIRST LIST, a membership program giving subscribers early access to ticket sales, preview performances, and special event invitations. Sign-ups opened on October 25 via the company’s official site at theideafirstcompany.com.
