From Isla Fisher to Lizzy Caplan, Lionsgate’s magical adventure-thriller Now You See Me 2 is back with a new female lead.
You may not be familiar with Lizzy Caplan but if you remember Mean Girls starring Lindsay Lohan, you’ll be surprised that Caplan played the role of Janis Ian, the lesbian-looking girl who were friends with Lohan and that “too gay to function” guy in the movie.
Caplan was also part of the found-footage monster film in 2008 Cloverfield and the time-travelling 2010 comedy film Hot Tub Time Machine. She definitely has the comedic chops the group needs in Now You See Me 2 and though Isla Fisher was very charming in the first movie, there’s no harm in liking Caplan’s role also in the sequel.
One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public’s adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, The Four Horsemen resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the unethical practices of a tech magnate. The man behind their vanishing act is none other than Walter Mabry, a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most impossible heist yet. Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.
“Now You See Me 2” reappears in Philippine cinemas June 8, 2016 from Pioneer Films.
