FERDINAND (2017) Review
Directed by Carlos Saldanha
A bull that can think like a human and is not capable of being, well, a bull makes an interesting story. But as an animated film that is targeted for the children, fiction can get you entertained in the weirdest way and sometimes, could touch your hearts.
Ferdinand is cute, heartwarming and funny. It’s formula of two unlikely characters turned into friends on the road to reunite with each other is not new, but the adventures of Ferdinand gets to be fun and entertaining. It’s a coming-of-age tale of a naive bull who just wants to be with his friend, who just wants to live in harmony, far from violence and being a feast of someone.
It is a film fit for the whole family. There’s lesson in Ferdinand’s journey, that violence won’t always be your last resort or that the people around you can be your friend, if you just open yourself to be one as well. It’s a colorful adventure decent enough to spend your time and money to.
