At the World Premiere of Kerwin Go’s black comedy Mina-Anud as the closing film of Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival 2019, a question and answer portion was held after its screening.
Present are its stars Dennis Trillo, Jerald Napoles, Mara Lopez, Anthony Falcon, Lou Veloso, Alvin Anson, director Kerwin Go and producer Roselle Monteverde of Regal Entertainment, Inc.
If you’ve seen the trailer or the actual film, you’d be surprised Regal Entertainment, Inc is one of the production houses behind it. Before you can think of anything negative, it’s just that the film is far from being a “commercial” film. Yes, it has big stars and has this certain appeal because of its story and humor, but the treatment is different. It doesn’t follow the formulas of a commercial movie. Mina-Anud felt free from cliches, free from formulas, free from predictability.
That’s why during the Q&A session, I asked Ms. Roselle Monteverde if backing up this kind of film changes or puts a new perspective in her outlook in producing films, she answers that Mina Anud is a proof that Regal Entertainment, Inc. continues its commitment in producing quality films, accepting great stories for the Filipino and international audience to see.
Regal Entertainment, Inc.’s next offering is Rod Marmol’s ‘Cuddle Weather (September 13)’ and Jason Paul Laxamana’s ‘Ang Henerasyong Sumuko sa Love (October 2). ‘
