The letters express his affection for Luis, but because they lived in the 1970s and his father served in the army, he could not express his emotions publicly. With all the boys’ love (BL) content being released now, how different is Happenstance?

“I think siguro po, one, ‘yung kwento is very different from what the others have been doing kasi nga we wanted to present something na mejo iba ‘yung story. So when I read that article online about a person na nakakita ng sulat sa ceiling, sabi ko pwede siya gawin into a material na pwedeng gawing BL. Kinausap ko si Jerry Gracio, ‘yung writer, we discussed a bit kung paano siya patatakbuhin. Iba ‘yung flavor kasi ngayon lang meron ‘yung may past and may present pero it still is a love story,” shares director Adolf Alix, Jr.

The three main cast: Kiko Ipapo, Jovani Manansala, Saviour Ramos and Shu Calleja auditioned for their roles, while the supporting cast composed of Erlinda Villalobos, Bembol Roco, Rosanna Roces, Allan Paule and Angeli Bayani were handpicked.

Happenstance premieres at the GagaooLala app this Christmas, December 25.
