Multwoh (Patay na Patay Sa’yo) Brings Internet Favorites, Drag Icons, and Screen Vets to the Big Screen

Filipino entertainment takes many forms, and Multwoh (Patay na Patay Sa’yo) brings them all together on screen. Packing its lead roles, supporting cast, and cameos with a mix of established actors and digital creators known for their skits, parodies, and viral videos, the Puregold CinePanalo entry showcases the full spectrum of local talent.

Directed by Rodina Singh, the movie follows Marcel (Sassa Gurl), a college student who dies before she can confess her feelings to her best friend, Miguel (Joao Constancia). She returns as a ghost to settle her unfinished business, sparking a chaos-filled story that blends queer romance, laugh-out-loud comedy, and supernatural twists.

Starring alongside Sassa and Joao are familiar names from Philippine film and television, including Enchong Dee, John Lapus, Iyah Mina, Phi Palmos, Mae Paner, Buboy Villar, Migs Almendras, Lui Manansala, Eric Fructuoso, Tart Carlos, KaladKaren, and Eugene Domingo. They are joined by Inah Evans and Christian Antolin, who both built loyal followings through their online comedy characters.

The film also hands the spotlight to digital creators stepping into cinema. Skit creators Pipay, Gaia Poly, Yani Villarosa, and Arman Salon bring their signature humor to the screen, alongside Chino Liu (famous for his Krissy Achino persona) and AC Soriano, known for their sharp celebrity parodies. Sophie Prime, Abby Salle, and Stella Salle also join the lineup, making the leap from online content to the big screen.

Rounding out the ensemble are beauty queen Dia Mate, Denzel Chang, Red Dilla, Casey Puo, Alfy Bara, Ice Neo, and Sesable, along with drag performers Sofia Trazona, Pura Luka Vega, Shewarma, Russia Fox, Tiny Deluxe, and Matiduh.

For many of these online creators, the internet served as their initial training ground. Transitioning to a feature film lets them flex their acting chops in front of a whole new audience while giving long-time followers a chance to see them in a different environment.

For director Rodina Singh, the goal was simple: tell a queer story that entertains without losing its heart. During its screenings at Puregold CinePanalo, she watched audiences connect deeply with the plot, reinforcing her focus on fresh, joyful representation.

“Queer stories don’t have to be tragic to be taken seriously. And they don’t have to be serious to matter,” Singh shared.

With Multwoh, Singh wanted to make something funny, romantic, and wildly entertaining while keeping its emotional core intact. The film tackles love, grief, and memory, all while celebrating the humor, bonds, and chaos of everyday queer lives.

“What if, instead of remembering queer people only through how they died, we remembered them through how they lived?” Singh asked. “Through the people they loved, the friendships they built, the ridiculous things they did, and the joy they brought into other people’s lives?”

That perspective struck a chord at the 2026 Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival, where Multwoh took home four major awards: Panalo sa mga Manonood (Audience Award), Panalo sa Production Design, Panalo sa Brand Intrusion, and Puregold Always Panalo.
