Carrie Has a Killer Debut: Prime Video Announces Season Two Renewal of Hit Series

CULVER CITY, Calif. — October 22, 2026 — Following its massive global debut, Prime Video has officially renewed Carrie for a second season. Adapted by acclaimed showrunner Mike Flanagan, the hit series features standout performances from Summer H. Howell as Carrie White and Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White.

Since premiering on October 7, 2026, Carrie shot straight to the #1 spot on Prime Video in over 105 countries. All eight episodes of Season 1 are currently streaming worldwide in more than 240 countries and territories.

Going Beyond Prom Night

Flanagan’s bold reimaging brings modern complexity to Stephen King’s seminal 1974 horror novel, exploring the brutal realities of high school life, social media, and awakening telekinetic powers. However, the creators emphasize that Carrie’s story is far from over—prom night was only the beginning.

“Carrie is connecting with both longtime Stephen King fans and a new generation altogether… We’re excited by where he and Stephen plan to take the story.”

— Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios

“From the beginning, we imagined a story that goes far beyond the prom, and I’m incredibly grateful for Stephen’s trust and support in exploring what comes next.”

— Mike Flanagan, Showrunner & Executive Producer

“Mike Flanagan and I are excited about what comes next. It’s bound to be thrilling.”
