PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE GHOST DIMENSION (2015) Review
Directed by Gregory Plotkin

With the franchise getting worse and worse with every installment, it’s best not to expect anything with this final chapter. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is neither scary or good. It tries to be creative in having a “monster” or “entity” or “ghost” but it failed in being scary. The film only resorts to jump scares which doesn’t work most of the time and turned out to be funny. It could be scary, yes but the potential is driven away by its lack of common sense. The story seemed too convinced that the setting and characters are isolated, making everything helpless to keep the film move forward. Most horror films does that but The Ghost Dimension hardly makes an effort to be actually scary.

Having The Ghost Dimension be the final of the Paranormal Activity franchise might be the best idea as the people behind these films are obviously running out of ones. It’s enjoyable at times as you may find yourself actually laughing at ridiculous plot lines and scenes the writer or director wants to present which is wrong. It’s confusing as to how this actually was made as the franchise’s final attempt in vindicating its existence in the found footage horror genre.
