Gritty and intense until the very end. Sicario is a solid action-crime drama led by brilliant performances from Blunt and Del Toro. The film not only keeps you on the edge of your seat with its intense scenes, it also presents eye-opening scenarios that will stay in you after the movie. It keeps away from big explosions, cliched cop predicaments and just embracing its atmospheric crime-thriller tune.
It is surprising to have two equally good protagonist. Two that contrasts each other’s perception about rules and justice and it works perfectly. Blunt is good as the innocent and naive idealistic NBI agent and Del Toro is effortless as the mysterious enigmatic consultant with a questionable past.
