To end all the rumors including being shelved by the studio, Variety now reports that the World War Z sequel have found its director, and it’s none other than David Fincher!
The film will star Brad Pitt reprising his role as Gerry Lane, a former UN investigator with experience investigating in dangerous war zones.
This is not the first time Pitt and Fincher will team up for a movie. The two have done numerous of films before such as 1995’s Se7en, 1999’s Fight Club, and in 2008’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Fincher most recent work is the adaptation of the mystery thriller Gone Girl with Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.
Production will most likely begin early 2018 for a 2019 release.
“World War Z 2” will be produced by Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, Skydance Media and Universal Pictures to be locally distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.
