“Kung Paano Hinihintay ang Dapithapon” Will Tackle Love & Jealousy in Their Twilight Years

You’re in your 70s or 80s and you’re already at peace with the person you’re with but suddenly your husband contacts you and needs your assistance until….. his dying day?

It’s a tricky question and situation but that is hardly tackled in Philippine cinemas that’s what producer Omar Sortijas told us during the pocket press conference of their Cinemalaya 2018 film Kung Paano Hinihintay ang Dapithapon.

Dapithapon

The core of the film is can old people still feel jealousy? But the story itself will tackle themes that are not usual in Philippine cinema. These themes might make more sense to old people but is actually universal. Love, forgiveness, acceptance, death – we all experience these at one point or another.

But what if this actually happens with Kung Paano Hinihintay ang Dapithapon cast? Watch their answers below:

So it’s a matter of how well you’ve forgiven each other and yourself and a matter of what’s most important which is time. You can’t go back in time and regret will always be there, so might as well give the time to the one you’ve loved for old time’s sake.

Teresa and Celso is an unmarried couple trying to survive their mundane elderly life. On the night of their anniversary, they received a phone call from Teresa’s estranged husband Benedicto who is ill and asking for care. The couple went out of their way to attend to his needs in the remaining days of his life, even seeking for the forgiveness of his son Chito. The film tells of love, companionship, and forgiveness. It is about moving forward by revisiting the past. It poses that on the twilight of our days, how do we really wait for the sun to set?

Starring Dante Rivero, Menggie Cobarrubias, Perla Bautista, Romnick Sarmenta, Che Ramos, Ryan Ronquillo, Jacqueline Cortez, Dunhill Banzon & Stanley Abuloc, Kung Paano Hinihintay ang Dapithapon is directed by Carlo Enciso Catu (Ari).
