Can you imagine multi-awarded actress Jodi Sta. Maria being almost three decades in the entertainment industry but still haven’t worked with Regal Entertainment, Inc. in a movie? During the Regal Legacy event, Jodi and some of the cast of Regal Entertainment, Inc.’s upcoming films gather to share details about their films.
“This is my fourth if not fifth horror film na nagawa ko sa career ko but this is my first horror film with Regal. It’s actually my first film with them, so thank you much. Just a backstory, I grew up watch Regal’s Shake, Rattle & Roll, Regal Shocker. O diba, reveal-an na ng age. So, parang when I became an actor, sabi ko, sana I get to work with Regal Films, and then it happened,” Jodi shares.
“I think ‘yung difference niya sa horror films that I’ve done before, kasi mostly ghost-centered or demon-centered especially when I did Clarita back in 2019 with direk Derick Cabrido, but this one had a lot of psychological tension to it. So, I guess that’s also the reason why I said yes to the project. Maganda rin talaga ‘yung script and for me, sabihin man natin na horror film siya, I believe na marami siyang masasagot na internal questions sa atin like what are you willing to give in exchage for your soul,” Jodi continues as she answers why she accepted the project.
Writer Enrico Santos also shared some details of the inspiration of Untold, “kapag nabasa ninyo ang Untold, makikita ninyo dun ‘yung stamp ng direktor, si Derick Cabrido. Dati siyang journalist, sa documentaries ng GMA. Some of the events in the story, totoong nangyari. Some events lang, ha. The real story itself didn’t happen pero very prevalent, usong-uso sa atin ang fake news, mga imbentong balita para magka-views, ‘yan ang naging inspiration for Untold.”
Untold tells the story of Vivian Vera, a journalist at the top of her game. Winning awards and accolades for her sensational news stories that captivate the public. However, her success is built on a foundation of lies, misinformation, and distorted truths. She has ruined lives to get where she is, and now those ghosts from her past have come back to haunt her.
Jodi is joined by Joem Bascon, JK Labajo, Gloria Diaz, Kaori Oinuma, Mylene Dizon, Sarah Edwards, Lianne Valentin and Miggs Cuaderno. The film is written by Enrico Santos and Anton Santamaria and directed by Derick Cabrido.
