The hit Korean zombie film starring Gong Yoo “Train to Busan” is now the highest grossing non-English film in the Philippines, grossing with more than P290 million in its first three weeks in the cinemas according to its local distributor Rafaella Films International, already beating 2014’s Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno which grossed about P87.5 million pesos in its whole theatrical run in the Philippines.
Written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho, Train to Busan is his first live-action feature film which is a sequel to his animated film Seoul Station. Starring Korean superstar Gong Yoo which Filipino viewers first fell in love with his character as Arthur Choi in the hit romance drama series “The Coffee Prince” which GMA News TV is currently re-airing the said series.
Train to Busan also stars Jung Yu-Mi, Ma Dong-Seok, Kim Soo-Ahn, Kim Eui-Sung, Choi Woo-Sik, Ahn So-Hee, Jang Hyuk-Jin and Shim Eun-Kyung from Next Entertainment World Korea.
Now on its fourth blockbuster week, Train to Busan is still showing in cinemas nationwide, locally distributed by Rafaella Films Internationa. Rated R-13 by the MTRCB.
