AS THE GODS WILL Tagalized (2014) Review
Directed by Takashi Miike

Odd, crazy and fun. As The Gods Will is a very unconventional and strange film that probably tends to a distinct audience. But what it presents is very entertaining, might be uncomfortable for some but it keeps surprising the audience with bizarre sequences that is too weird to process but you probably wouldn’t care because it’s meant to entertain and blow your brains out. Still, while the mystery remains, you can’t help but notice behind the gorefest is a carelessly written story.

Director Takashi Miike is known for his violent, human horror films, As The Gods Will isn’t an excemption. The film may be liken to Battle Royale or The Hunger Games, but it’s odd and experimentation with its characters and monsters are out of this world (literally). It works because it’s not the usual, it gets to be something you weirdly feel it only works as an anime, something you dreamed about but feels impossible to picture.
